A. Check Physical Connections:
USB Printer: Ensure the USB cable is properly connected to both the printer and the computer. Try using a different USB port.
Network Printer: Verify that the Ethernet cable is securely connected, or check the Wi-Fi signal if it’s a wireless printer.
Power Supply: Make sure the printer is powered on and there are no error lights or warnings on the printer display.
B. Printer Condition:
Ensure there are no paper jams or low ink/toner warnings that could prevent the printer from working.
Restart the printer to reset any internal issues.
2. Software Troubleshooting:
A. Verify Printer Drivers:
Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
Check if the printer appears in the list. If not, click Add a printer or scanner.
If it’s not automatically detected, manually download and install the latest drivers from the printer manufacturer’s website.
B. Windows Print Spooler Service:
Open Run (Win + R), type services.msc, and press Enter.
Locate Print Spooler, right-click, and select Restart.
If the spooler is not running, start it. If it repeatedly stops, there may be a corrupt driver or pending print job.
C. Firewall/Antivirus Settings:
Sometimes, firewall settings or antivirus programs block printer connections. Ensure that your firewall is not preventing the printer from being added.
